It has been 10 years

since Mada left us.

Light a candle for Madeleine today

This memorial website was created by her father to remember our dearest Madeleine Claire Pitot who was born in Australia Brisbane on May 27, 1986 and passed away on October 31, 2006. She was 20 years old.  You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
that we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without affect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.

All is well.

Maddy’s Song
Thanks to Oliva for the words and Brett for the music.
Both from Cascade Place

Madeleine, my little princess, my beautiful butterfly
Your eyes taught me everything I needed to know about love
Your smile lit up the earth and the sky above
I loved the way you screamed and shouted
I loved the way our jumped about
I loved the way you laughed and cried
I loved the way you filled my life
So fly my little butterfly
Feel the wind beneath your wings
And enjoy the freedom
I will miss you terribly but you will live in my heart till the day I die
